Hunter Valley Wine Tours with Cheese, Chocolate or Gin

Hunter Valley wine tours that add cheese, chocolate or gin: which days from Sydney and which valley tours include each, lunch in or out, and the chocolate shop's own tasting.

Updated November 2026

Most Hunter Valley wine tours add something to the wine, and the three common extras are cheese, chocolate and a gin distillery. If you want all three and lunch in one day from Sydney, the clearest fit is Dave’s Travel Group’s From Sydney: Hunter Valley Wine, Gin & Food Tastings Tour: wine and gin tastings, a cheese and chocolate pairing and a 1-course lunch with a wine or beer, from US$199 a person (checked November 2026).

Powerd by GetYourGuide

The calendar above is the wine, gin and food day, with 239 reviews (checked November 2026). It leaves from one of two points in central Sydney, with no hotel pickup, and allows free cancellation up to 3 days before, a longer notice than most of the days on this site.

The chocolate stop

Map of Pokolbin with the venues the tours name: Hunter Valley Chocolate Co. on Broke Road, 4 Pines at the Farm, Keith Tulloch Wine, Bimbadgen, Hungerford Hill, Hunter Valley Gardens, Tamburlaine, Audrey Wilkinson, voco Kirkton Park and Mount Pleasant
Pokolbin: the Hunter Valley Chocolate Co. and the other venues the tours name. Stops rotate.

The Hunter Valley Chocolate Company is the chocolate stop on two of the Sydney days. On its own terms, the shop at 2320 Broke Road sells a A$5 tasting of bark, buttons, coffee beans, one cabinet chocolate and a little fudge; tastings need a booking 24 hours ahead, and the factory runs no tours (checked November 2026). On the day from Sydney and the Grayline Sydney day, the visit comes with the tour.

Cheese, and where the gin comes in

Cheese is the most common pairing. Activity Tours Australia's day and Boutique Tours Australia's all-inclusive day both include a guided cheese tasting and a lakeside lunch with a glass of wine, and the Boutique Tours Australia day also puts every tasting fee in the price. In the valley, the Two Fat Blokes Wine Tours half day is built around a cheese and wine matching at Two Fat Blokes Gourmet Kitchen.

Gin means a distillery stop, and the tours name it in different ways: a gin tasting on the Dave’s Travel Group day, gin and limoncello on Colourful Collective's, and a range of locally made gins, flavoured vodkas, schnapps and liqueurs on the FLAVORS of the Hunter half day.
